2 concepts to contemplate and apply

One of my major ongoing goals is to have experiences of living that are beyond circumstance.
Let's call this concept Choiceful Creativity: the ability to choose what i am feeling and/or experiencing regardless of circumstances or situations beyond my control, which includes other people's choices. (I could also call this Causative Creativity, as causative implies being at choice.)

This is interesting because the second concept seems to be at paradoxical odds with the first:
My practice and application of Critical Thinking, or Critical Reflection, in order to learn from being aware of the results of my actions.
Critical Thinking requires me to understand that meaning is largely context-specific. If meaning were a living creature, it would exist in an interconnected ecosystem, in an environment that matters and that shapes this animal's life.

So 2 concepts - Context and non-Context. Being part of and shaped by my surroundings, and also having experiences that are beyond and not entirely based on my current surroundings.

This relationship between these 2 practices is ripe with nuance and possibility.

A side-story about Love.
I have been "in love" many times. Before i was ever in love, i had ideas about love that shaped my behaviors and that predisposed me to certain types of emotional patterns. After being in love a few times, those initial ideas changed & evolved, and keep changing and evolving, hopefully into a much more healthy meaning of love.
There are many types of love, probably as many degrees and shades of love as there are beings who will ever experience it.

There is abundant conditional love on this planet. Everyone has their personal list of do's and don't's pertaining to how they want to give and receive love & affection. Understandably, because we all have personal & specific: wants, needs, and boundaries.

How much unconditional love is practiced here? Love beyond form, gender, age, power, pleasure, pain, wealth, control? When i practice this form of love, my limited definitions of love have to change and grow. I have to release what I have been holding onto about love and what I think it means.

Love can be anything we choose it to be, and we have all already chosen what it means for us!
We can update those meanings in light of awareness and new information, knowing that what we think isn't always what is real, because we all know about something we think we are certain about and are then surprised and enlightened by a more accurate understanding. :)

Summary & Practice
- Conscious Creativity TOGETHER with Critical Reflection
- Beyond ALL Circumstance: time, space, pain, pleasure, and opinions are ALL circumstantial
- value is context specific; a car is usually worth more than a flashlight, unless you are alone in the dark.
- wouldn't we all like to feel the awesomeness of living in a friendly universe, on a friendly planet, even if the immediate situation seemed to indicate otherwise?
